Born in Rome, Gabriele Croci graduated with honors from the “S. Cecilia” Conservatory in Rome. He pursued advanced studies under Bashmet and Giuranna during his doctoral training. He has served as guest principal viola with major Italian orchestras and currently teaches at the “S. Pietro a Majella” National Conservatory in Naples. Gabriele is a founding member of the Bernini Quartet and Ensemble Algoritmo; as a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed across Italy, Europe, the United States, Latin America, the Middle and Far East in prestigious venues such as Parco della Musica in Rome, Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires, the Venice Biennale, Goldsmith’s Hall in London, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam, Teatro Farnese in Parma, ProQuartet in Paris, Beijing Conservatory, the Cantiere Internazionale in Montepulciano, and the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, among others. Strad Magazine praised his recording of A. Schnittke’s “Monologue” for viola and strings, lauding his “wonderful viola sound across the entire range.”
